A Dutch Gouda just took the top spot at the 2026 World Championship Cheese Contest with an almost perfect score. The winner, Beemster Royaal Grand Cru, is aged for a full year using traditional methods by Cono Kaasmakers, a farmer-owned cooperative. The group has been making cheese in the Netherlands for 125 years, using pasture milk from cows grazing in North Holland.
