Architect Will Fung, co-founder of CO-AP, is one of the designers revitalising the National Sculpture Garden at Canberra’s National Gallery of Australia.
It’s a dream project for Will, who distinctly remembers his first visit to the National Gallery in 1983, not long after moving to Canberra from Hong Kong.
An ongoing source of inspiration today for Will is Callan Park — particularly the rainforest planting surrounding the former Broughton Hall Psychiatric Clinic — which the architect visits every morning.
Will shares what he’s learned from Callan Park as an example of good landscape design that responds, evolves, and adapts over time.
