All of this is, of course, dependent upon whether you know how to contour your face. Like any makeup look that requires some know-how, practice makes perfect when it comes to contouring. Whether you’re a first timer or you’re simply trying to hone your craft, the tips and tricks below are all you need to know about how to contour your face.

FOLLOW THE STEP BY STEPS AND FIND THE RIGHT TECHNIQUE FOR YOUR FACE

Oval shape – Ideal shape, balanced proportions

Blend dark shade upwards.

Objective: Simply enhance the natural features of the face.

Round face

Apply dark shade under the cheekbone blending downwards.

Objective: Contour / reduce volume: cheeks and jawline. Lengthen the face.

Square – Face is as long as it is wide

Apply dark shade on the top of the cheekbone and blend in.

Objective: Refine and lengthen the face – reduce cheekbone and jawbone width.

Heart Shaped – Jaw is wider than the temples and cheekbones

Objective: Narrow down the width of the jaw and highlight the cheekbones and forehead.
