Trump’s Tariffs Could Cost US Families Nearly $5,000 More in Grocery Bills, Yale’s Economists Warn

A new analysis from Yale’s Budget Lab shows 2025 trade policies are set to drive grocery prices up once again. Fresh produce could jump more than 5%, and overall food prices are projected to rise 2.6% in the short term. It’s another strain on household budgets already squeezed by years of inflation.
