IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE EARTH DAY TO WORK WITH A NATURAL COLOR PALATE
Discussions of color – and adding color into one’s wardrobe – always center around bright colors. For some of us, however, it’s just not “us.” And there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s possible to be sartorially sophisticated and not be “wild” or “into fashion.” As a matter of fact, I’d argue that women with the most sophisticated style are often above those kinds of categorizations.
Color doesn’t need to be overwhelming. And if earthy tones are your thing, try to look towards nature for something more organic and, well, natural. The shade of this blazer, for example.
Earthy tones are a color scheme that includes tans, greys, greens, browns. This selection of diverse and modern colors are inspired by what can be found in nature: minerals, dirt, moss… you get the idea. It might seem basic, but it’s also fashionable and functional, creating a fresh, natural and understatedly chic look that varies depending on the fabric.
Add texture by mixing and matching pieces with chunky knits, silk and leather. Another great thing about this color scheme is that it more often than not compliment your skin tone and the colors lend themselves well to a variety of different settings, meaning that you can easily accessorize.
