On Trend: Black and White

Amidst the noise of our daily lives, the simple and classic can refresh us like nothing else.

Though it seems like plain common sense to immediately break out your brights and pastels in celebration of spring’s warm arrival, and while we’re not urging you to eschew color altogether, we do think black and white looks especially chic in the springtime.

This season, designers are experimenting with the classic color combo to offer up fresh takes on a long-lasting favorite. For some, that meant playing with texture. With this classic color combination, there’s a variety of styles available, whether you chose to go ’60s inspired mod with a bold, graphic print, or simple and sophisticated with easy separates.

It might seem ridiculous that after an entire season of darkness we’re advocating you to wear black. But when used to punctuate a canvas of white (or vice versa), the two shades in tandem feel fresh, sporty and young.

Even some of our brands like Nordstrom are playing on this trend by adding a black and white only shopping section. Making life that much easier to select the right matches.

Life may not be always be black and white, but the this spring is entirely a different story.
