Travel: 6 Packing Hacks

Vacation is fun, but for most packing is not. Here are a few tips to help you master the packing process.

1. Make a packing list.

Before you bring out the suitcase, create a list of everything I’ll need. This way while packing you can rely on a list instead of your memory.

2. Pre-pack a travel kit.

After too many vacations with forgotten toothbrushes and toothpaste, pre-packing a toiletry travel kit always ready and fully stocked will help you out.

Having items like a travel toothbrush and travel size toothpaste, contact solution and deodorant waiting for your to grab and throw in your suitcase is a life saver. This way, you’ll never have to worry about forgetting something and making that desperate drugstore vacation run!

3. Roll, don’t fold.

Suitcase space is always a concern and with the rising cost of airline baggage fees, we’re all doing our best to consolidate our vacation wardrobe into just a few bags. One tip is to roll your clothes instead of folding them. Rolling pieces takes up less room in your suitcase and allows you to pack more.

4. Use your shoes for little things.

When packing, every inch of your suitcase is prime real estate. Use the insides of your sneakers or heels to pack smaller pieces like undies, bras and swimsuits. No space should be left behind when packing effectively.

5. Tuck Underwear Inside Bras

Save space and help your bras maintain their shape by stacking them on top of each other, folding them in half, and tucking your underwear inside. This will keep bras from creasing inward, and utilize an otherwise empty space in your suitcase.
