A new study found that children with higher levels of PFAS “forever chemicals” in their blood had lower bone density by age 12, potentially raising their risk of fractures later in life. Researchers say the effects were especially pronounced in girls, adding to growing evidence that early PFAS exposure may have long-term health consequences.
