In Trend: Falling Flat

This spring designers seem to have jumped on the comfortable shoe bandwagon for good! On the runways we are seeing flats (and sneakers), and our feet are rejoicing. At the top of our list is Chanel’s modern loafer with an ankle strap, androgynous yet feminine. What’s not to love?

If you need more proof on why you should lay off the the heels this season, look to spring’s runways, where flats are just about everywhere, from embellished shower sandals at Fausto Puglisi to the polished black-and-white Mary Jane loafers at Chanel and the flamed flatworms at Fendi.

Mules have also made a reappearance – just when you thought you could discard your 1990 versions, they’re back! And for those of you have been missing a good oxford, not to worry! The classic two tone lace up is alive and well. You have lots of choices: from colorful athletic suede’s to glizty black and white patent. They balance the menswear influence that appeared on this year’s runways.
