Must-Have Makeup for Spring

We are used to seeing spring makeup in the form of bronzed skin, glossy lips and soft eyes. But the beauty trend this season threw us a few surprises. Think bright lips and strokes of brilliant color!

Spring is here and it calls for bold makeup… and we mean the bolder the better. Leave your black eyeliner and heavy smokey eye in the past along with winter. This season, venture outside of your comfort zone and experiment with pops of blue eyeliner and deep burgundy lipstick.

THICK BROWS AND MINIMAL EYES

Eyebrows are the true window to the soul and can completely change the shape of your face. Ditch the 90s thin brow and opt for a thicker more younger looking brow. If you can’t grow out a perfectly thick brow, don’t worry! With eyebrow pencils, gels, and other tools, filling in your own eyebrows has become easier than ever. The best part about bold eyebrows – you don’t have to pile of eyeshadow or liner! We highly suggest the easy-to-use Benefit Gimme Brow brush and gel with added color in two shades. Or for those who prefer shading with a pencil, try Anastasia Perfect Brow Pencil, which comes with a brush on one end. And for the ultimate transformation try the Anastasia dip browand shade in by using a liner brush.

BOLD BLUE LINER

Daring blue is in for eyeliner this spring! Create a popping eye by lining your inner eyelid with a powdery baby blue, or go bold with our favorite cat-eye winged effect by using a dark deep blue. Throw on a neutral lip to minimize the drama! Try the YSL waterproof eye pencil or the Laura Mercier creme eye liner found at Nordstrom.

BRONZED AND GLOWY CHEEKS

Contouring is all the rage these days, but even with all the tutorials out there, it can be a challenge to not look like you gave yourself a bruised cheek. With cheeks – less is more! Go for a soft tint of bronze that can give a light pop of dimension. Allow your lips and brows be the focal point and lightly apply bronzer to the cheeks. Try Benefit Watt’s Up or Dior’s weightless Diorskin Air bronzing powder from Nordstrom.

DEEP BURGUNDY MATTE LIP

There’s nothing better than a perfectly-lined red matte lip. Deeper reds are the “it” color this season. The deeper the better! Keep your eye makeup to a minimal to look chic. Try NARS fast ride lipstick or MAC’S Isabel and Ruben Toledo limited edition lipstick in Sin from Nordstrom.

While fresh, well-moisturized skin and little ease is still the unanimous beauty trend this season, there is still plenty of playful touches to experiment with.
