Decorating Ideas: Outdoor Spaces

Summer time is the best time to have an outdoor space you can call your own, be it a balcony, a patio, a garden, a rooftop terrace, or even a front stoop. Whether you are hosting an outdoor dinner party, into gardening or just looking for a comfy spot to kick-back, we’ve put together a list of ideas to help spruce up your outdoor living space!

The Balcony

Most city apartments don’t have much balcony space, but that doesn’t have stop you from doing some outdoor decorating! A vertical garden is a great way to add a big punch of greenery. Take hints from Crate and Barrel’s Complete Garden Kit, bird feeder and garden beds to help get your outdoor space started.

The Front Porch

Most front porches are often underutilized. Start by laying down an outdoor rug and cushy pouf to give you softness underfoot, and try adding a bistro set for morning coffee. A small grouping of planters with bright blooms adds eye candy, and long rail planters will liven up the porch banisters all season long. Finish it off with Saabira planters flanking the front door.

The Yard

While most don’t have the largest yard, it’s possible to take every opportunity to have a beautiful yard. If space permits, flanking long seating with lounge chairs will give a conversational feel, and an umbrella overhead will keep you cool and comfortable—as will pillows in every color of the rainbow! In an imaginary yard, garden beds with endless fruits and veggies will line the perimeter.

Of course, having a proper grill to cook fresh garden edibles, and this charcoal Weber would make any family happy. Barbecue sauce on the side and a glass of sun tea doesn’t sound too bad either.

This year, let’s embrace our outdoor spaces and soak in every warm, lazy minute. Cheers to a long outdoor season ahead!
