The Future is Sporty

You’ve most likely seen it by now: “dressy” sweatpants, fleece bomber jackets, or sparkling clean running shoes paired with a suit. If you haven’t, then let me introduce you to Sport Luxe (Sporty Chic).

Even if you don’t consider yourself athletic , you’ll probably find yourself dressing like one come spring. Sporty details are back again this year — from performance inspired fabrics like mesh to athletic inspired stripes and trims were all key elements on the runway for Alexander Wang, Lacoste, and Rag & Bone.

Though casual-looking and cozy to wear, these sportswear-inspired outfits are hardly meant for the gym. Instead, you can wear them on casual dates, to dinner parties or even to work. This trend is here to stay  —  and it’s not hard to see why. True luxury is when you can feel at ease in your outfit without adhering to social norms. Try a bomber jacket, skirt and slide sandals combo to emphasize a laidback style. You can also try layering a crop top over a longer shirt. In addition to tees, also try lightweight knit tops and shirts for textural contrast and modesty. For the bottom, skinnies are the go-to for volume contrast but feel free to experiment with cropped pants and joggers.

Whether or not you are a workout addict  — it’s game on for fashion goers this season!
